2:1 Related Services Delivery Model
Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, the Branchburg Township School District will transition to using the 2:1 Related Services Delivery Model for Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapies. The primary objectives of the 2:1 Model are listed below:
- To assist with aligning therapy goals with student needs
- To continue to focus on the explicit transition of acquired skills
- To continue providing specialized group services
- To provide training, consultation, and support to teachers, assistants, etc.
For all relevant IEPs, the following language will be added in the Special Alerts section:
- Related services (Speech, OT, PT) will be delivered using the 2:1 Service Delivery Model. This model will encompass 2 cycles of direct service delivery (reflected in programming as an annual number of sessions) and 1 cycle of indirect service delivery that will include generalization of learned skills in the natural environment, training and consultations with staff members, aligning goals with the curriculum, and evaluating student progress. The frequency of related services does not include holidays, summer vacation, inclement weather and/or winter/spring breaks. Related services will be provided in coordination with the school calendar, and therefore school wide or class wide events such as assemblies, field trips, class parties, early dismissals, etc, may occasionally impact these services.
