Terri Joyce

Term Expires: 2022


Terri and her husband Christopher have been residents of Branchburg for 20 years. Their two children attend Branchburg and Somerville schools. Terri is the treasurer for Somerville Area Fish, Inc., a small, local non-profit agency. Prior to her tenure on the Branchburg Board of Education, Terri was involved in the all of the Branchburg schools as a parent volunteer beginning in 2008 with the Whiton Family School Council and moving to the Branchburg PTO and also as a parent representative on various administrative committees.

Terri was appointed to the Branchburg Board of Education in 2011 and elected to her first term in 2012. She is currently serving her second elected term and has been a member of each of the board committees over the last 7 years. She currently serves as board vice-president, chair of the Policy Committee and liaison to the District Safety Committee.

Terri is a former IT and communications professional, with a passion for learning and giving back to her community.


Cathy Curcio

Term Expires: 2021            



Cathy has resided in Branchburg for 12 years. Her children have gone through the Branchburg public school system and one currently attends Somerville High School. She has enjoyed participating in several community activities including as a Girl Scout leader, Religious education volunteer, and the Branchburg PTO. She had the privilege of participating on the PTO executive board for 11 years – 3 as president.

Cathy has a BA in psychology from Douglass College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University. She has experience in the fields of special education, counseling, and behavior therapy. She has a passion for education, possibly as a result of being raised by two public school teachers! She is particularly interested in the areas of curriculum, community relations, and school policy. She is dedicated to ensuring the best educational experience for the children of Branchburg.

Cathy has been serving on the Board of Education since 2015.



Zoltan Ambrus
Term Expires: 2020            



Zoltan and his wife of 40 years raised all three of their children in Branchburg. Currently retired, he has B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a M.Ed. from Lehigh University.

Zoltan has been active with the Board of Education since 1990 when he served on a citizen ad-hoc committee to look at the need for a new school. He was involved as a citizen and a Board member in the planning and construction of Whiton Elementary, the additions on BCMS and Whiton, and the solar panel project on BCMS. He first was appointed to the Board in 1995 and then served continuously from 2001 until today with one 3 year respite. He has served on every committee of the Board and served on the Somerville Board of Education for 4 years. He has also served as Board President on multiple occasions.

Laura DePrado

Laura DePrado

Term Expires: 2022


Laura and her husband Michael have lived in Branchburg for 20 years.   They have 2 children who have graduated through the Branchburg school system.  Laura earned a BS in Journalism and Political Science from North Texas State University, has a Horticultural Therapy Certificate from Rutgers University, and earned the Professional credential “Registered Horticultural Therapist” through the American Horticultural Therapy Association.  She is the founder and owner of Final Touch Plantscaping, LLC specializing in Horticultural Therapy programs.

Laura is deeply involved in the local community and has been a strong advocate for children of all abilities.   In 2018 Laura was named Top 25 New Jersey Leading Women in Business Entrepreneurs. She has been a long time member of The Rotary Club of Branchburg and received Paul Harris Fellow for outstanding service.  Laura is a longtime mentor and liaison to Eagle Scouts and Boy Scouts and has been recognized for service by the Boy Scouts of America “Toast to Scouting Award.”  She is an appointed member of the Somerset County Agricultural Development Board, Trustee of New Jersey Agricultural Society and Somerset County Board of Agriculture.  Laura received the NJ Nursery and Landscape Association’s “Distinguished Service Award” and was also nominated for Mary Pat Christie’s “NJ Heroes” award.  She has earned the American Horticultural Therapy Association Alice Burlingame Humanitarian award.

Laura is looking forward to serving on the Board with unwavering dedication and commitment.


Kristen Fabriczi

Term Expires: 2022


Kristen has been a Branchburg resident since 1985 and has three children who currently attend Branchburg Schools and Somerville High School. She is an alumna of Stony Brook School, Branchburg Central Middle School and Somerville High School herself! She currently works locally as a speech therapist for students with special needs.

Kristen joined the board as a way of giving back to the district that provided her with an excellent, quality education. She wants to help the district continue to strive for excellence and move continually forward.

Kristen has been serving on the Board of Education since 2016.


Noah Horowitz

Term Expires: 2021

Noah is extremely excited to be on the Branchburg Board of Education. He is an alumnus of the Branchburg School system and also graduated from Somerville High School.

Noah is currently attending Raritan Valley Community College as a declared mathematics major. He hopes to become a math teacher after graduation from a four-year college.

Noah is looking forward to learning and working with the Board of Education during the next few years.




Olga Phelps

Term Expires: 2020


Olga has been a resident of Branchburg since 2005 and is mother of two sons who are attending BCMS and Somerville High School. She is a third-generation educator with eighteen years of experience teaching at secondary and college level. She earned her Master of Education Degree in teaching English and German, has worked in the USA and abroad as a language instructor, social studies teacher and associate adjunct professor. She has a vast and deep understanding of best educational practices around the world and is eager to continue using her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the benefit of Branchburg residents. She is currently an adjunct professor at Raritan Valley Community College and a professional artist and member of Raritan Valley Arts Association.

Through her work at RVCC and contacts with international educational institutions, she has a unique insight into what skills our students need to succeed in the ever-changing, increasingly competitive globalized economy. She is honored by the trust Branchburg residents have put in her and will continue to work for the benefit of every student of our township.

Olga has served on the Board of Education since 2013.


Keerti Purohit

Term Expires: 2020

Keerti is a mother of two children attending Branchburg schools and strongly believes in the power of education to open up opportunities for people from all walks of life. She is passionate about collaborating with parents, teachers, administration, and the community to provide a safe and positive learning environment to prepare our children to meet the demands of the future.

Keerti is a trustee of the Branchburg Education Foundation, and also enjoys volunteering for the PTO and community sports organizations.

She has over 20 years of IT leadership and management-consulting experience in Technology, Finance, Telecommunications, and Healthcare. Her experience ranges from working with executive leadership on business strategy to translating business goals into end-to-end people, process, and technology solutions. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and an M.B.A. in Management from the Wharton Business School.

Keerti began serving on the Board of Education in 2017.


Charles Tuma

Term Expires: 2021

Charlie and his wife Mariane have lived in Branchburg since 2013.  Their 2 children attend Somerville High School and Branchburg Central Middle School.  Born and raised in Linden, NJ, the family relocated to Avon, CT for 8 years before returning to NJ and settling in Branchburg.  Charlie holds a BS degree in Finance from Montclair State University and has completed additional course work focusing in Management Information Systems.

Charlie has close to 30 years of experience in Finance with an emphasis on budgeting, forecasting and planning.  He has worked in the Finance, Insurance and Manufacturing industries and is currently employed by a large, multi-national insurance company in their Investments IT division.

In his spare time, Charlie enjoys deep sea fishing, gardening and home improvement projects.

Charlie is excited to serve on the Board of Education. He is honored by the trust you have placed in him and is eager to share his expertise.  He will ensure that all students receive the best possible education and that the taxpayers of Branchburg get the maximum value for their education dollars.
