  • Use the feedback from your peer's revision worksheet to make needed revisions to your argument essay.

  • Read through your essay and check how you used information from various sources.  Did you quote information that comes directly from a source?  If you paraphrased information, is it an acceptable paraphrase?  Check and revise your paraphrasing.  Underline sections of your writing if you are not sure whether it is acceptable paraphrasing.
  • Complete the blue handout of paraphrasing practice.
MONDAY 4/15
  • Begin revising Argument Essay rough drafts.  Tonight, focus on making sure the introduction and the conclusion are strong.

  • Read the packet that was distributed in class today.  The packet includes the strong, well-written openings of six different stories.  For each opening, you should highlight or underline elements that make it a strong or interesting opening.  Then choose the two openings that are your personal favorites.  Explain in 1-2 sentences why you like each of these. (This can be written directly on the packet.)

  • Review dialogue notes.  Tomorrow in class there will be an assessment that requires you to use this information.

    •  Three ring binder divided into four sections and containing notebook paper.

    • A composition book or spiral notebook to be used for writing journal entries
    • Highlighters
    • Sticky notes

    Also suggested, but not required: colored pencils and pens of various colors
