Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to my class! I am looking forward to an exciting yearfull of fun and chances to explore new topics. During the course of this yearwe will be exploring a variety of topics including current events, politics,physical/political geography, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.This year will be challenging and demanding for students as they learn toassess the world around them and its rich history. I believe that students cannot understand the world in which they live if they do not understand whathappened in the past to help shape it. For example, we will not only belearning about modern events of the Arab-Israeli Conflict, but we will belearning about Islam, Judaism, and the events of the past 100 years that haveshaped and influenced the conflict. I hope that you are as excited as I am tobegin our journey together. I am looking forward to seeing you on Sept. 8th!
