Language Arts Homework
Week of June 3, 2013
We will be in the library all week working on our Renaissance Faire Research Projects. If you are absent, please be sure to continue to conduct your research so that you may gather enough information to be able to complete three 4x6" index cards. All completed index cards are due by next Monday, 6/10.
When your group has completed your Index Cards, you may begin working ont he visual component. Please be sure to bring to class any materials you may need other than basic construction paper and art supplies.

Continue working on your sonnet inspired by a song of your choice. Song must be school appropriate and your sonnet must be 14 lines, 10 syllables per line and follow the proper rhyme scheme for a sonnet. Due Wednesday, 4/10.
Tuesday, 4/9/13:
Finished sonnets due tomorrow (preferably typed). You must hand in the song lyrics, a brief summary of the song, and your sonnet.
Begin studying notes on Shakespeare for a quiz on Friday, 4/12. Quiz is based on the color-coded notes taken in class (Facts of the Theater, Life and Times of William Shakespeare, and Shakesperean Terms).
Wednesday, 4/10/13:
Read the following short text regarding the history of Midsummer. Highlight three important facts / details from the text.
Also, find out the Greek Mythology story of Hippolyta. You can google her or use this link: http://www.pantheon.org/articles/h/hippolyta.html. Write down a brief summary of what you read.
