Students are responsible to take the initiative to make up all missed tests, quizzes, homework assignments and notebook assignments. They are given one day for every day of school missed. (Please let me know if there are unusual circumstances which require a longer period of time to make up work.) I keep extra copies of every handout available to the students and a log of all notebook assigments. Students should keep a record of their grades in their agenda on the pages available for that purpose. Tests: Count twice and students will have 2-3 per marking period Quizzes: Count once and students will have 5-8 per marking period Homework: Each assigment is worth 5 points. Students start with a base of a 100 and points are deducted for each missed assignment. Students may submit an assigment one day late to receive 2 points back on their homework grade. No credit will be given for homework which is more than one day late. Homework grades will be updated in PowerSchool and will reflect the day missed. To identify the assignment, please look at my homework page for the previous day. Projects: The grade value of these will be determined by the complexity and duration of the assigment, usually a test or quiz grade. Notebook Grade: Students will use a bound composition notebook to complete lab work and to reflect on what they have been taught or have learned in the lab. This will count as a test grade. |
